Cookie policy

This site asks once whether it may count your visit. If you say no, nothing about your browsing is measured and the only cookie you get is the one remembering that answer. If you say yes, Google Analytics is switched on and sets cookies of its own.

Either way you can browse, enquire and book exactly the same, and you can change your mind further down this page. There is no advertising or remarketing on this site.

One cookie, and only for the owner. When the owner signs in to manage the calendar and rates, the site stores a signed session cookie so that the next page knows it is still them. It is not readable by JavaScript, is limited to this site, and expires — and it is never issued to a guest.

Your booking lives in the database against the email address you give, not in your browser. Nothing about your stay is kept in your browser at all.

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages people read, how they arrived, roughly where in the world they are, and what sort of device they used. It is how we learn that nobody can find the gallery, or that most enquiries come from a phone.

It sets cookies in your browser, named _ga and similar, which hold a randomly generated number so that two page views in the same visit can be told apart from two separate visits. They do not carry your name, your email address or your booking — we do not send any of that to Google, and your booking details reach it by no route at all.

None of it starts until you say yes. Before that, and permanently if you say no, the analytics tags are switched off and those cookies are never set.

Google processes this on their own terms and may hold it outside South Africa. We do not use it for advertising, we have no remarketing or advertising tags on this site, and nothing here is passed to anyone for marketing.

This is the switch. It takes effect immediately and applies to this browser on this device.

Payment is handled by Paystack on their own pages. They may set cookies of their own while you are there, under their policy rather than this one, and those are outside our control and outside our sight. Your card details never reach this site.

Where a video of the building or the apartment is shown, it is embedded through YouTube’s no-cookie domain, which is chosen precisely so that watching it does not leave advertising cookies behind. Pressing play still contacts Google’s servers, as any embedded video must.

Every browser can block or clear cookies in its settings. Doing so will not stop you browsing, enquiring or booking here — the only thing it breaks is the owner staying signed in, and the record of the answer you gave above, so you would be asked again.

This page describes the site as it is built today. If anything is added that watches how the site is used — analytics, an embedded map, a chat widget — this page has to be rewritten before it goes live, and you would be asked to agree first where the law requires it.
